Jefferson Parish Library
2016 - present
A job as a library associate is a sort of "jack of all trades." Whatever patrons come in needing me to do, I have to be able to do it. This involves simple tasks such as checking items out to patrons and helping them locate items on the shelf; and more demanding tasks, which involve helping people fill out job applications and make a resume. At my branch, I am responsible for the children's programming, which includes a weekly craft and a weekly story with craft.
2017 Story and Craft Schedule
As a sales associate, I was responsible for providing excellent customer service. This involved helping customers locate items they were searching for and acting as a guide during their shopping experience. I opened and closed registers depending on my shift and processed transactions with customers. Each day I organized merchandise displays, located items for markdowns, and assisted my coworkers.
At Smoothie King, I was the weekend opener. This entailed setting up the store for the day and overseeing shift change. As a shift leader, I was responsible for delegating tasks to team members. On my shifts, I was also liable for the cash registers and any transactions that took place. During my last two years working there, I was in charge of performing the monthly retail inventory.
